The Roundhouse is full of history dating back to "the early days, when horses were used for power to move railroad cars around a circular pivot for repairs." Each year, the town of Evanston holds a festival that attracts model train enthusiasts, history buffs, and collectors of railroad artifacts. A trip here is "like walking back in time." There is tremendous history in these rail yards.

Nestled in a mountain valley, the Granite Hot Springs is "a great way to relax those muscles." Imagine "sitting in a hot pool while the snow is falling, or on a cold, clear night." The Global Cafe

The Global Cafe is "a little cafe with the sweetest, most down-to-earth woman who bakes and cooks some of the most delicious food you will ever taste!" If you like pecan pie, hers is "to die for!" Plus, "the ambiance is amazing," and it is incredibly relaxing. The "band area is full of couches and soft lighting," the back patio has lights so you can sit out back, and upstairs there is a game room with pool and ping-pong tables. Wind River Canyon is about 12 miles long with "sharp canyon walls" that are 2,000 feet tall. The scenery is "absolutely gorgeous." Don't be surprised to find "bighorn sheep and deer wandering through the canyon." There are challenging rapids for whitewater rafting, and the "fishing is great." (Note: fishing permits are available at local stores.) In August, there is a "charming farm" nearby that sells apricots and vegetables. Also, stop by "Wolf Creek convenience store, a chalet-type store where weddings often take place in the summer." Read more.

If a "huge 1.5-pound burger on a 6-8 inch bun loaded with whatever you like, fries, and a drink" is up your alley, order a Mountain Burger to go from B & F Foods. It's the "best burger" and the "best buy" around at this "off the beaten path" local supermarket that sells mostly bread and milk. The Mountain Burger "which is sometimes the only thing they sell at the deli" will definitely "help you hibernate for the winter."

They put on various reenactments, so there's opportunity for "active participation in historical events" just like "when the West was wild, mountain men hunted wild game, and Native Americans were scattered across the prairie." The Bar J Chuckwagon serves up an authentic "campfire-style meal" followed by live entertainment every night between Memorial Day and Labor Day. "If you can believe it, they serve about 750 people in 25 minutes!" Following the meal are the Bar J Wranglers, who entertain with "song, jokes, stories, and a taste of the Old West."
