Nancy's Home Cooking
Columbus
614.265.9012
Locals flock to Nancy's, a "'li'l dive" for "amazing comfort food." The owner (not Nancy) "does all the cooking in front of you" and can make whatever can be prepared on a short-order grill. She fosters a friendly atmosphere, and encourages people to "grab their own drinks, eat, and get on out" (to make room for the line of locals waiting outside). The space is long and narrow and "only seats about 20." Every Thursday the special is chicken and noodles, and if they sell out then they close early, so it's best to get there before everyone else. For breakfast, "garbage omelets," home fries with sausage, hash browns, and bacon are guaranteed to please.
