Over the river and through the woods? to the biker bar you go! Set on the South Platte River, just south of Morrison, "getting to this colorful biker bar is half the fun." The "last mile or two of the scenic drive to get here (and to leave) leads through a steep, rock canyon." After making the drive through beautiful scenery, you arrive to yummy jalapeno burgers and beer. It's a fun place to relax, and always an adventure due to all of the road's twists and turns, but "be sure to always have a designated driver." In the heart of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, the Springs Resort is a 50-room boutique hotel with 18 soaking pools of "naturally hot therapeutic mineral water." These ancient waters are known to have curative powers. The pools vary in temperature -- so you can always find the right one for you. Usually the temperature range is between 83 and 114 degrees. Set "in the foothills outside Boulder," Gold Hill is "one of Colorado's oldest mining towns." To get there, it's a "beautiful drive through the mountains" to reach "two streets," a "general store," and an "inn with a five course menu and bar with weekend music." The inn makes you feel like you've "gone back at least 100 years." Indulge in a six course meal "made fresh with ingredients from local markets." But, don't just come for dinner. Stay for a night and enjoy Gold Hill. Despite its size, the town offers "plenty to do" with activities ranging from "hiking, biking, and four-wheel-drive trails" to "scenic drives" along the "peak-to-peak highway," while makes for all overall "great getaway." Just because you're a mile high doesn't mean this town is dry. Mosey into the Falling Rock, where the "beer menu is huge and has selections from all over the world." What's on tap? They "keep pouring on the love" with at least 70 beers that are "craft brewed," plus the bottled beers range from such Colorado brews as Great Divide Wild Raspberry Ale to Belgium's Chimay Grand Reserve. Head 65 miles south of Denver or four miles west of Colorado Springs between the Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak to the small town of Manitou Springs, where you'll find the "friendly" and "saloon-style" Keg Lounge restaurant. Here, in addition to a "pleasant and attentive staff," diners say "the food is excellent." As for the menu, it's "short but varied and has daily specials." The meats are "grilled while you watch," so it's just how you like it. The "berry salad and buffalo is their specialty," and, in keeping with the name, there's "more than enough beer to go around."
