Information About Taxes, Governmental Fees, Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees

Please review the following information carefully from time to time as it is subject to change.

AIR TRANSACTIONS

Taxes and Governmental Fees. Most of the prices displayed for air fare on our site already include all applicable taxes and fees to be collected by the airline and remitted to the government. In other cases, sample prices are displayed where it may not yet be possible to calculate all such taxes and fees; for example, if we don't yet know your departure city or the number of flight segments in your itinerary. When that is the case, after the displayed price you will see a plus sign (+) (such as "Miami from $155+") to let you know that the following additional charges may apply: (i) Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to US$18, depending on itinerary; (ii) Federal Segment Fees of US$3.60 per segment (defined as a takeoff and a landing); (iii) the September 11th Security Fee of US$2.50 per segment (maximum charge per trip of US$5 one-way, US$10 round-trip); (iv) a Travel Facilities Tax of up to US$16.10 per round-trip for domestic segments beginning or ending in Alaska or Hawaii; and (v) for international itineraries, foreign and U.S. government-imposed charges of up to US$200 per round trip, depending on routing and destination. By the time you get to the check-out page, all of these amounts will have been calculated for you, so you'll always know the total price of your ticket(s) before you make the decision to book.

Offline Air Transaction Service Fee. We add a non-refundable fee of US$25 per passenger (up to 3 passengers) for airline tickets booked via telephone.

Paper Ticket Shipping Fees. Most air transactions can be fulfilled using e-tickets. However, if an airline does not offer e-ticketing, or if you request paper tickets, there will be a shipping fee assessed of US$29.95 per transaction for second business day delivery; US$39.95 per transaction for next business day delivery; or US$49.95 per transaction for international delivery. Airlines may assess additional charges for issuance of paper tickets and additional charges may apply to Sabre Agency Ticketing. We will bill any such shipping fees to the credit or debit card provided during the booking.

Change / Cancellation Fees. If you change your reservation, airlines may charge a fee to use your ticket as credit for a new reservation. This fee varies by airline, market, and specific fare rules, and may be US$150 or more for domestic tickets and US$200 or more for international tickets. If you cancel your reservation, airlines usually deduct US$150 or more for domestic tickets and US$200 or more for international tickets before determining the amount, if any, that can be applied towards future travel.

Additional Information. All air fares may be subject to additional restrictions, may not be available on all flights, and may change without notice. Specific fare rules are provided prior to purchase. In a limited number of stand-alone air transactions, we serve as the merchant of record for credit card and payment purposes. In these situations, amounts displayed in the "Taxes and Fees" line consist of the amount that we expect the relevant airline to bill us for any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges that such airline must remit to the government, plus an additional Processing Service Fee that we retain to compensate us for processing your travel reservation through our system. Also, remember that you may incur other charges during your flight that are not payable to us and are not included in the quoted price, such as airline baggage fees and other charges for optional services.

HOTEL TRANSACTIONS

We market hotel rooms on the site under two different business models. The first is the "postpaid" model (also known as the "published rate" or "traditional agency" model), where you book a room through us at published rates and you pay for that room, plus any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges directly to the hotel at check-out. The second business model is the "prepaid" model (also known as the "net rate" or "merchant" model), where we collect payment from you up front and then transmit funds to the hotel. We label the "prepaid" model rooms as "GoodBuy" rooms on our site because they are covered by our Low Rate Guarantee. Amounts displayed as the nightly rate for GoodBuy hotel transactions consist of the amount that the relevant hotel has agreed to accept for the room, plus a Facilitation Fee that we retain to compensate us for facilitating your travel arrangements. Amounts displayed in the "Tax Recovery Charge & Service Fees" line for GoodBuy hotel transactions consist of the amount that we expect the relevant hotel to charge for any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges (a "Tax Recovery Charge"), plus a Processing Service Fee that we retain to compensate us for processing your travel reservation through our system. For hotels located in New York City, the Tax Recovery Charge also includes NYC's Hotel Room Occupancy Tax for bookings made on or after 9/1/09. Combining the Tax Recovery Charge with our Processing Service Fee enables us to maintain the opaque nature of the "prepaid" rate. Note that at the time your hotel reservation is made, we can only estimate the amount that the relevant hotel will collect for applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges; we will pay the full amount of those charges in any event. Also, remember that you may incur other charges during your stay that are not payable to us and are not included in the quoted price, such as extra-person or extra-bed charges, resort fees, gratuities, hotel energy surcharges, parking fees, telephone fees, room service, movies, mini-bar, and incidentals.

CAR TRANSACTIONS

Amounts displayed in the "Taxes & Fees" line for TotalPrice car rentals represent the amount of taxes, governmental fees and other charges payable by you directly to the car rental agency when you return your rental car. In the case of car suppliers that do not provide TotalPrice information, these taxes, governmental fees and other charges are calculated and displayed to you prior to the completion of your reservation. Also, remember that you may incur other charges in connection with your car rental that are not payable to us and are not included in the quoted price, such as insurance, gasoline, and charges for optional equipment.

CRUISE TRANSACTIONS

Amounts displayed in the "Taxes and Fees" line for cruise bookings represent the amount of taxes, fees and other charges payable by you to the cruise line when you book your cruise with us. Travelocity may also charge a Processing Service Fee that we retain to compensate us for processing your travel reservation through our system. Also, remember that you may incur other charges during your cruise that are not payable to us and are not included in the quoted price, such as gratuities, optional shore excursion costs and communications charges.

VACATION PACKAGES AND LAST MINUTE PACKAGES

Prices shown for travel packages (not including the "Tax Recovery Charge & Service Fees" line) consist of the amounts the relevant suppliers have agreed to charge for the applicable components of your travel package (i.e., air tickets, hotel rooms), plus a Facilitation Fee which we retain to compensate us for facilitating your travel arrangements. Amounts listed in the "Tax Recovery Charge & Service Fees" line consist of the amount that we expect the relevant suppliers to charge for any applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges. For hotels located in New York City, the Tax Recovery Charge also includes NYC's Hotel Room Occupancy Tax for bookings made on or after 9/1/09. Note that at the time your hotel reservation is made, we can only estimate the amount that the relevant hotel will collect for applicable taxes, governmental fees and other charges; we will pay the full amount of those charges in any event. Unless otherwise noted, prices shown for travel packages are in USD for one adult, and if the travel package includes a hotel, based upon double occupancy. Prices are subject to change based upon your choice of travel dates, number of travelers, departure city, and your choice of flight, hotels or other items, and may require a minimum nights' stay. Also, remember that you may incur other charges during your travels that are not payable to us and are not included in the quoted price, as outlined in the flight, hotel and car sections above.

OTHER TRANSACTIONS

Information regarding taxes, governmental fees and other charges on any travel-related transactions not discussed above will be calculated and displayed to you prior to the completion of the booking process.
